Alexandra & Aubrey's Senior Session at UW

Last week, the girls and I met up at the UW with Alexandra and Aubrey for their senior pictures. It was cold and a little damp, but the rain held off to give us the opportunity for some great images. Because they are twins, the girls asked for their pictures to look unique...that was a hard challenge! When on location, I am always on the lookout for the right spot and the right light - so it was hard to not try the same ideas with both girls. I think we were able to come away with enough variety to make everyone happy.

Starting off with Alexandra's images...

And these are some of my favorite images of Aubrey...

Alexandra and Aubrey, I truly had a blast with you taking your senior pictures, and think they look awesome! You both did a great job in front of the camera, and I look forward to sharing all of your images with you. Blessings to you!

Cary & Nancy's Engagement Session

I met Cary and Nancy a few weeks ago, as they were planning for their March wedding. One of their united passions is a love for football - hey, now we're talking! When they learned we also were avid Seahawks fans, Cary and Nancy invited us to capture their engagement photos at Qwest Field. Special thanks go to Cary's friend Curt, who not only gave us a VIP tour and access to the stadium, but who also arranged for special greetings to light up the field as we photographed their session.

Who needs a football? This was just as fun...

Or in this case, Cary's cap had to make do for Nancy's field goal attempt...

Cary and Nancy, thank you for inviting us to capture this special time in your lives in a fun and creative way! We had a blast with you - even with the rain - and pray that the laughter and love that you share will always be a part of your lives together. Blessings to you!

Kelsey's Headshot in Duvall

Yesterday I met Kelsey in Duvall to photograph her for a headshot image she needed to complement her acting resume. We started off at the barn - a location I absolutely love due to the beautiful way the light illuminates faces and highlights eyes, plus the added affect of a natural wind tunnel makes for some great pictures. Another location I love in Duvall is the former railroad depot, which provides a great natural light location in the morning hours.
Kelsey, I hope that the image you select helps to open doors for you in your future as an actress. Blessings to you!

LaVena's Senior Session at the Arboretum

The past week in the Northwest has been just perfect for doing what I love to do, and thanks to LaVena, I was able to enjoy a fantastic afternoon in the great outdoors. LaVena was a great model as we shot her senior pictures at the Arboretum, and afterward on the campus of the University of Washington. Her beautiful blue eyes are mesmerizing!

If this apple tree looks familiar, well...it's graced my blog before (see Kevin and Amanda's engagement photos).

There is a cool alcove cut into the entryway of a building on the UW campus, and is almost reminiscent of a castle window. I love using this spot for senior girls, as the natural light provides beautiful illumination for the face and the hallway light provides a soft hairlight. It's like having a studio but so much better! This is one of my favorite images of LaVena from her session...

LaVena was accompanied by her mom and her friend, Davney (who was a great help to me and filled in as our lighting assistant when both Alyssa and I were busy capturing the perfect shot - thanks, Davney!). I couldn't resist taking a picture of the three of them...

Thanks, LaVena, for being such a good sport and for having fun with us. I look forward to sharing your images with you soon. Blessings to you!
