Krist & Kelly's e-session webshow

It was so much fun to shoot Kelly & Krist's engagement session, that I couldn't leave it at that! So I pulled together a short webshow of my favorites from the day - some I've shown on here, and others that are new. Krist & Kelly's Engagement Session

We had the most awesome time last night photographing Kelly and Krist's engagement session! Sometimes I have a hard time thinking of this as work...it was so much fun. We started out at my favorite location - the place I call my "studio", Post Alley at Pike's Place Market. As usual, the light was beautiful and the weather was perfect.
This is a shot Gabriel took as we asked Kelly and Krist to hang out in a doorway in Post Alley. I love the look and feel of this image - very romantic.
I'm always looking for new angles, new concepts, and new ideas. I was inspired by some pretty great photographers recently, and came up with this idea for Kelly and Krist. This is one I may just have to repeat in future e-sessions...
We passed the Experience Music Project building on our way to meet Kelly and Krist, and I was hit with a sudden inspiration to use the building for our photo shoot...actually, I was surprised I never had considered it before.
It was too cool...lots of interesting colors, reflections and angles made it a fantastic place to play.
I loved the ease that Kelly and Krist had with each other...you could tell that they enjoyed being together. They were both such good sports about going along with our suggestions, even to the point of hamming it up for the camera when necessary. It made photographing them extremely easy.
An urban photo shoot in Seattle would not be complete without a trip to Kerry Park for a view of the Seattle skyline. We had to hustle to get there before the sun went down...and we just made it. Whew!
The sunset was so gorgeous...the perfect ending to a very enjoyable photo session. I know we're going to have a great time together at their wedding!

Alison's Family Reunion

Alison contacted me a few weeks ago to see if I was available to photograph her family reunion. What I loved about her request is that this family reunion wasn't centered on a special event...it was just a family who was coming together from different parts of the country, and wanted to keep up with the family pictures. I can totally relate to that!
I wanted to give a sneak peak of a few photos before the session is posted for the family on-line. These kids are so photogenic! It made photographing them so easy...
The relationship between Katie and Abby is so comfortable, you can tell they are really great friends. We decided to play around with different poses, and ended with something more traditional...I think this one really shows off their beautiful smiles.
Payton and London, another pair of sisters that share a special relationship. Their eyes were so striking and pretty! If we had more time, I'm know we could have kept at it, letting them have fun while I snapped away. Maybe next time...
I think this photo sums up the family spirit...relaxed, good-natured, and fun-loving. After all, how many brothers-in-law do you know who are so at ease with each other? Thanks for a fun afternoon!
