Toddler Time

With just weeks to go before Aliyah's baby sister arrives on the scene, I asked if I could take just a few more pictures of my friend's family in a more relaxed atmosphere...their home. Little did I know that my thoughts of sweet pictures invoking peace and tranquility would be replaced with a toddler's viewpoint of what my camera should be viewing that day. Let's just say it involved a lot more energy than I anticipated. In the end, I think we both got our way!

Ain't misbehavin'...Aliyah had the go-ahead to jump to her heart's content.

See, Krisztina, you were right! You knew that I would come away with pictures that we would love. Be blessed!

Impromptu photo session with my friends...

A few weeks before my friend Krisztina's due date, we finally worked in the family session we'd been talking about. Usually, I'd try to set up a shot like this, but instead it came about when Aliyah decided she wanted to stand rather than sit on her parents' lap. No problem! I loved how this series turned out.
Here she gets to be the big sister while her dad checks out what the baby is up to...

Bob and Krisztina, I love taking pictures of your family, and can't wait for more opportunities when Livia is born!

Snow!

What a season it has been! On Wednesday the snow fell fast and furious in our area, making a normal 40-minute commute from the girls' homeschool co-op last into a 5-hour adventure, culminating in a two-mile uphill hike to our home in the dark of night as we had to ditch our car in town to avoid icy hills. My only regret is that I didn't have my camera with me!

We awoke to a sun-filled morning and scenic beauty all around us.
Our dog, Anushka, couldn't wait to get out into the snow and run around. I think she had the most fun out of us all!

Ashley found out the trying to jump on a snow-covered trampoline wasn't quite as fun as she thought it would be...especially when the snow wedged in-between her sweatshirt and her back as she fell. Brrr!

Debbie's Family Reunion

It's not often that families have the opportunity to get together, so the holidays are a perfect time to re-connect with loved ones. Debbie asked several weeks ago if I'd be available to take her family photos when she knew all her grown kids and mom would be with her in December - we were blessed that God parted the gray skies and gave us a beautiful day to be with them to document this time in their life as a family.

It's sometimes hard to keep the attention of a larger group of people - I saw this photo op present itself and couldn't resist asking the guys to stay turned around for just a few shots. Not to worry...they made it face-forward in all the rest!

See what I mean?

Blessings to you, Debbie, and to your family!
